London-based British violinist Naomi Warburton has a varied career as a chamber and orchestral musician.  When she’s not making music with the Kyan Quartet, she works with orchestras including the Philharmonia and the BBC Symphony, and has a small private teaching practice.  Naomi graduated with a Master’s with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in 2023, where she studied with So-Ock Kim.  Highlights from her time there include leading the Academy’s symphony and opera orchestras in multiple projects, collaborating with members of the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective, and participating in a masterclass with Hilary Hahn.

Prior to this, Naomi graduated from Clare College Cambridge with a Double First in Music, where she was an award holder on the university’s Instrumental Award Scheme.  Through this, she received coaching from ensembles such as the Endellion and Ligeti Quartets and the Amatis Piano Trio.  Naomi also led multiple orchestras whilst at Cambridge, including the University Opera Society's production of Carmen and Rutter’s Requiem under the composer’s baton.  She has performed as part of various chamber ensembles at the Festival Berlioz in France, and live on BBC Radio 3’s “In Tune” programme.

Alongside her education work with the Kyans, Naomi has led workshops for young musicians as part of the Royal Academy of Music’s widening participation scheme, and is looking forward to sharing the joy of music-making in community settings during the course of her MMSF fellowship with the Philharmonia Orchestra.
