Hello Subscriber First Name,

Can you guess what piece we might be playing above? We felt this picture could not be any louder (if you guessed Bartok’s 3rd String Quartet - well done!). Our season came to an end just a few days ago, and we’re now on a Kyan holiday break before we start the next month with renewed energy and vigour. We were so grateful to have spent our summer at three fantastic festivals whilst packing in some exciting new repertoire to launch our upcoming season. We hope you are staying cool with every iced drink imaginable this summer - here are some highlights we’ve been looking forward to sharing with you:

TUNNELL TRUST: MUSIC AT COLL COURSE
Two trains, an overnight hotel, and a 5:30am ferry later - we made it to the Isle of Coll! We spent 10 days working intensively on some Beethoven, Haydn, and Bartok, with three concerts to nearly the entire population of 180 people!

We spent the course with the lovely Morassi Quartet and Quintessential, filling our downtime with table tennis and some gorgeous walks.

Many thanks to Jonathan Tunnell, Ralph de Sousa, and Scott Dickinson for your your inspiration and mentorship!

SOUTH DOWNS MUSIC FESTIVAL
In mid-July we were on the complete opposite side of the UK in lovely Alfriston, learning from members of the Piatti Quartet and other incredible musicians. Here we are with Artist Directors Emily Holland and Zahra Benyounes.

We closed the festival with a thrilling programme of Shostakovich, Shaw, and Schumann in front of a fully packed St Andrew’s Church. (Some good public speaking above by our 2nd violinist Sydney!)

ENYS CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL
Last but not least, we spent a few days in Penryn, Cornwall, where we shared our music alongside the other festival musicians in the gardens and performed a monstrous concert with works by Haydn, Bartok, Shaw, and Beethoven!
